Japan’s world-renowned mountain sightseeing route, the “Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.” This path piercing through the Northern Alps, connecting peaks at the 3,000-meter level, will finally fully open on April 15, 2026. ❄️ Spring Highlights: The Overwhelming Snow Wall

Yuki-no-Otani Walk

Walk between snow walls approaching 20m in height. This is the Alpine Route’s most popular event. The contrast between the blue sky and white walls is a must-see.

Panorama Road

A walking route spreading across the silver world outside the snow walls. Enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view with the Tateyama Mountain Range in the background.

Snow Play Area

A field of snow even in April and May! Packed with activities like sledding and making snow statues that both adults and children can enjoy.

Dynamic Tourist Water Release

Starts from late June. The water spray bursting from Japan’s highest dam (186m) often creates rainbows, making it a perfect photo spot.

Electric Bus

Kanden Tunnel Electric Bus

A tunnel completed after a fierce struggle with fracture zones. Currently, the latest EV buses operate here, showing consideration for the environment.

Kurobe Dam Curry

A local gourmet dish shaped like the dam. You can enjoy both the look and taste, including the roux inspired by the emerald green of Lake Kurobe.

Ropeway Without Support Towers

To preserve the scenery, the Tateyama Ropeway has absolutely no support towers over its 1.7km length. It adopts a “one-span method” that is highly rare worldwide.

Japan’s Greatest Elevation Difference

You travel from an elevation of 475m up to 2,450m by transferring between cable cars, buses, and ropeways. This transport network is world-class in its scale.

Messenger of God: “Ptarmigan”

A special natural monument surviving since the Ice Age. Encounter rates are high around Murodo, and in spring you can see their feathers changing from white to brown.
